Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run International has a network of over 200 councils across the United States and Canada.

Ūsful Glassworks is a nonprofit organization that helps people with employment barriers (homeless, refugees, low-income seniors, felony offenders, and people with mental and physical disabilities) find jobs through our glass recycling program.

Ūsful Glassworks is a unique, entrepreneurial nonprofit program in that we serve two purposes at the same time: first, to help people with employment barriers find jobs and second, to recycle glass bottles that would otherwise be discarded and buried in the landfill. Each year we provide jobs training in production and manufacturing for around 100 people while also recycling about 65,000 bottles.

The Crayon Initiative organizes crayon collections that take unwanted crayons, remanufactures them, and provides them to children’s hospitals caring for our kids. Annually, over 500,000 pounds of broken crayons are discarded in landfills throughout the country. By collecting unwanted crayons from restaurants, schools, as well as other locations, and recycling them into new ones, The Crayon Initiative is doing our part to prevent crayons from depositing in the landfill.

In the past 12 months, we have diverted over 40,000 pounds of unwanted crayons from the landfill. This has allowed us to process and donate new crayons to over 15,000 pediatric patients in 12 states and 35 different hospitals. We are partnering with new schools, restaurants, and community groups everyday increasing our intake of crayons. Each new partner helps us divert crayons heading for the landfill into pediatric patient’s hands.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless believes in the healing power of companion pets and of the human/animal bond which is very important in the lives of many homeless. They find solace, protection and companionship through their pets. They care for their pets on limited resources so they themselves have less. Our task, nationwide, is to feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to their pets and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who cannot provide for their pets. Our unique programs include free pet food, emergency veterinary care, wellness clinics and sleeping crates to homeless shelters that will allow pets.

Pets of the Homeless is the only nationwide program of its kind, we network with established veterinary hospitals, volunteers, foods banks and soup kitchens across the nation to reach our pet guardians and leverage our funding. Our website is a wealth of information for pet guardians who are homeless, and those with low or fixed incomes who are seeking information on shelter, pet food, veterinary treatment, vaccinations and spay/neuter programs. Donors can find a Donation Site to drop off pet food and supplies as well as make a monetary donations using the website.
